Happy new year!
The year of the pig is here, celebrated where I work with various events, including Chinese food (or, as they call it in China, food), beautiful calligraphy and a Lion Dance. The dance seemed overlong in a confined space but was good fun and culminated with a diving catch from the man in the business suit designated to catch the orange which the lion spit out.
My class, thankfully, were not made to sing.
Lesson this week on weather among other things.
I sent an email in Chinese to my host in Beijing, who replied with compliments about my writing - but that's down to Word's Chinese capabilities and a good dictionary as much any skill I may have.

Scraped through
Got the results of our exams today. I'm far too modest (as those who know me will attest) to show the actual marks, but I passed all the three exams.
Since the year of the pig starts next weekend, we've been learning a Happy New Year song in class today.

Photos to go with this Blog
Probably just my ignorance, but wouldn't it be better if this was better joined up? Not much to look at there yet, obviously.
